A new independent local venture, based in Gloucestershire, offering football coaching for children from the age of 4 years up to 15 and of all abilities. Whilst teaching the children the Technical, Psychological, Physical & Social skills of football our aim is to always put the emphasis on fun and enjoyment. All coaching staff are FA qualified and CRB checked.

THE SOCCER MATRIX

We use the Soccer Matrix in our coaching sessions. It is the worlds first audio interactive rebound system designed to improve the motor skills fundamental when controlling and releasing the ball.

Soccer Matrix is electronically driven using audio instruction and panel sensors to measure accuracy , reactions and weight of pass while teaching a variety of drill programmes.

The player is surrounded by 6 rebound panels numbered 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 & 12, these panels are announced in sequences and the player passes the ball to the announced panels. The Soccer Matrix unit announces a speed / accuracy score at the end of each and every drill, this is the foundation for all the Soccer Matrix programmes.

The Soccer Matrix is already used by several professional clubs namely Everton, Liverpool, Fulham, Cardiff City, WBA, Feyenoord & ADO den Haag.

WHAT WE OFFER

DEVELOPMENT COURSES
2,3 or 4 day courses at selected venues. Daily competitions such as Crossbar Challenge, Power & Finesse and for the younger ones
'design a kit'. Also includes a 'Football Gladiators' competitions and a 'Champions League' style tournament.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
After school clubs run for up to an hour at the end of the childrens school day within the grounds of the school. The coach will cover all aspects of the game from the physical to the social but the emphasis will always be on having fun. Courses will draw on elements of KEY Stage 2 PE.

SOCCER CENTRES
Our Soccer centres run for 6 weeks at suitable venues local to Stroud. The 6 week course will cover all the technical aspects of the game, dribbling ,passing, agility, communication & shooting.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Football themed birthday parties at our local venue (subject to availability). Price from £75 (Min 12, Max 16 children) Includes venue hire, coaching session & competitions.

GIRLS FOOTBALL
Specific courses can be run aimed at developing football skills.

TINY TOTS

ABOUT US

First Touch Coaching has been set up by Clive Eckersall and Steve Cowe. Both have been involved in the game since childhood. Clive has managed and coached in local football for several years and has helped organise Soccer Development courses with Swindon Town FC.

Steve joined Aston Villa at the age of 14, his career then took him to Swindon Town where he played over 100 games and was a part of Steve McMahon's 1995/96 Division 2 championship winning side. In the latter stages of his career he played for several local teams including Forest Green.
